I’m Toni, the travel-obsessed soul behind Tonchy the Traveler. I’m based in Skopje, North Macedonia, and I’ve always been passionate about discovering new places, learning about diverse cultures, and tasting traditional food from every corner of the world.
How it all started
My travel journey began in 2010, with a trip to Greece – the closest seaside destination for many of us in North Macedonia. Back then, my brother was working there, and I decided to visit him by bus.
What should’ve been a simple return trip turned into an unexpected adventure. On the way back, the bus left me in a small town near the border. With temperatures hitting nearly 40°C, I had to walk all the way to the highway to catch a ride back to the border – and eventually, another bus to Skopje.
I ended up with heat exhaustion, but the experience sparked something in me… a deep desire to travel more, learn more, and live more.

My goal? To visit as many countries and cities across all continents as possible, and to experience every culture, every flavor, and every beautiful moment that travel has to offer.
While I still have a big part of the world left to explore, one of my top dream destinations is Iceland – I can’t wait to witness the magical Aurora Borealis with my own eyes.
Besides my love for discovering new destinations and flavors, every journey is also a personal challenge for me. One of the biggest challenges I face is traveling long distances, especially flights or rides that last over 10 hours. But it’s in those moments—when I’m pushed out of my comfort zone—that I grow the most and collect the stories worth sharing.
